The other person in the relationship is YOU. You have a unique story about how you came to start your business - especially if your work is your calling. What experiences led you into the field? How has the work shaped you?
When you know your ideal client and your unique story, you will likely find it much easier to work on your marketing plans and projects. Begin journaling when you feel ready. Ask yourself...
- Who have I loved to work with?
- What qualities did they have?
- What do these clients have in common?
Then write about...
- How did I come to this work?
- How has this work changed me?
- What do I love about my work?
Relax and Go at Your Own Pace
Business and marketing can be really intimidating at first - most of us didn't learn these skills in school. But you can find ways to run your business that really work for you. You don't have to be perfect, and contrary to what you may have heard, there's no need to rush. You can go at a pace that's comfortable to you.
